TRIP
COST CALCULATOR: The trip cost calculator provides
an interactive area where you can figure the estimated time
and cost of a trip.
You
can estimate a projected trip based on the aircraft selected
along with all the various costs that come into play in
determining actual trip cost. This section gives you information
such as: how long the trip is projected to take in hours,
projected direct trip costs, projected total trip costs,
and projected trip cost in nautical miles.
To
use the trip cost calculator:
Nautical Miles: Enter your estimated trip distance directly
in the white box next to “Trip Dist. Nautical Miles”.
Block
Speed Mph: Enter your block speed in miles per hour (mph)
in the white box next to “Block Speed Mph”.
All
trip cost information follows through to justification.

JUSTIFICATION
SECTION: Gives you the
ability to compute justification for any trip based on time
saved and interactive employee values.
The
justification section lets you determine justified costs
that are associated with the selected aircraft based on:
the total hours saved by using the aircraft over other means
of transportation, any overnight expenses saved, the value
of the executive man hours, and number of executives involved.
If
you are utilizing the justification section to justify against
a particular aircraft:
You
must first enter the information in the trip cost section.
Once that information is entered, enter the estimated total
hours saved by utilizing corporate vs. commercial service
in the first white box.
Enter in the overnight costs and cost of airline tickets
saved in next white box.
Enter in the value per hour of each executive on the trip.
Enter in the number of executives on the trip.
To
utilize the justification section to justify the cost of
a charter quote:
1.
Start first with the “Aircraft Budget” screen.
2. Click on the type of aircraft you want to justify,
i.e. Jets, Turbo Props, Pistons or Helicopters.
3. Make sure the first white box on the top has “My
Aircraft” listed.
4. Change the hours per year to 1
5. In the miscellaneous section type in the hourly cost
of the charter quote.
6. Go to the next tab marked “Depreciation, Trip
Costs and Summary”.
In the trip cost section:
1. Enter 367 for estimated trip distance in nautical miles
in the first white box.
2. Enter 422.3 for your block speed in miles per hour
(mph) in second white box.
Go to Justification section:
1.
Enter the estimated total hours saved by utilizing corporate
vs. commercial service in the first white box.
2. Enter in the overnight costs and cost of airline tickets
saved in next white box
3. Enter in the value per hour of each executive on the
trip.
4.Enter
in the number of executives on the trip.
